This databank contains all the latest information on new legislation and legal judgements required by lawyers assisting migrants. The objective is to enable greater digital exchange of expertise on migration and integration between various European countries.
B. Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX)
FORUM is a partner in the European MIPEX project, in which various parts of the migration and integration policies of all European countries are compared to each other and measured against best practices in an ideal situation. FORUM provides data on behalf of the Netherlands. MIPEX is published twice a year and its objective is to make policy in the various European countries more coherent and to bring it more in line with the European legal framework.

C. Werkgroep Rechtsbijstand in Vreemdelingenzaken
(WRV, Legal aid in alien affairs working group)
Each year two plenary sessions are organised which focus on the exchange of expertise on migration law between its roughly 400 members (lawyers, legal aid workers, institutions and experts). The WRV also offers members a telephone surgery and access to the MigratieWeb Databank. The legal surgery receives over 900 questions from legal aid workers by telephone, fax or E-mail each year.
D. Secretary to the Meijers Committee
This is an independent think-tank and organisation of legal academics and experts on international alien, asylum-seeker and criminal law. The secretariat is located at FORUM. The Meijers Committee comments on European proposals and subsequently advises the Dutch government and parliament, the European Commission and the European Parliament. The Meijers Committee concentrates on draft decrees by the European Council of Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs and on the European Commission’s draft legislation to implement Title IV EC Treaty. FORUM prepares the committee meetings and ensures publication and dissemination of comments and advice.
